Kelly Lindner, Sac State Curator

Kelly Lindner is the head of the Galleries and Collections Curator for the Sacramento State art galleries (the Library, Else, and Witt Galleries). She is in charge of overseeing the art exhibitions for all these galleries, along with managing the entirety of the Art Department's art collection. She previously worked as the director and curator at CSU Chico's Art Gallery, the Jacki Headley Gallery. She has helped exhibited over twenty exhibitions, like Two Truths and a Lie, a photographic exhibition focusing on the impact of photography's role on society. She has also worked for the San Francisco Arts Commission, as well as for the Artist Legacy's Foundation in Oakland, CA.

Currently, at Sacramento State, there are a handful of exhibitions and projects being featured in each of our three galleries. At the Library Gallery, there is PLATFORM, an free event series intended to connect students, faculty, staff, and communities with contemporary artists, collectives, and curators (available through Zoom), Hello Stranger, a mail art project allowing artists to deliver artwork to random recipients in an effort to continue communication during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as Art for the Heart in an effort to connect communities with art that have suffered because of the pandemic. The Else Gallery is highlighting the recent Climate Justice = Social Justice Student Art Exhibition, inspiring students to explore climate justice and social justice issues within our environment, along with two artist exhibitions, including the Malting Molting exhibition by Seongmin Yoo and the It Murmurs to Silence exhibition by Jose Veronica. Lastly, the Witt Gallery is highlighting the WHERE am i and WHERE do i want to be: my Kama Muta exhibition by Sarai Bustos, meant to convey how her emotions drive her to understand her inner self or "oneness", her Kama Muta.

If I had the chance to ask Kelly Lindner a question, I would ask her throughout all of the exhibitions she has curated and oversaw, which one stood out to her or has inspired her the most?
